Voyager Diary

Friday, October 17, 2008 Today we started out the morning with Voyaging. It was a lot of fun! After that the Snake Clan and the Rainbow clan got together to talk about the letter people and to do the Power Pack cards together (sounds of the alphabet). We also had Reading Buddies today. All of the older students paired up with their Reading Buddy to share a good book together. In the afternoon we had teacher read, math, switcheroo, and Friday Frolics! It was a great day! - Sarah Monday, October 20, 2008 Today was Writer's Workshop. It is fun! We got to do the Shirley Show (which includes a puppet). The Shirley Show is performed during Author's Chair. In math we made bubbles. First we made the sculpture, then we made real bubbles. Our teacher Jim reads to us from the Junior Great Books. They are really good. - Hannah T. Tuesday, October 21, 2008 Today we did the MEAP test. When we had finished we went to Media, recess, and singing and calendar. After lunch we had reading time with Jim. Math was shorter today because Celia's class had art. We had Drop Everything and Read time and then we went outside for an experiment with Mentos and Diet Pepsi. Tomorrow we are going to try the experiment using Diet Coke. - Brandon G. Wendesday, October 22, 2008 Today we had Voyaging and Writer's Workshop in the morning. Writer's Workshop was interupted because we had to get our pictures taken. Next we had gym class and we played soccer outside. After lunch we had Band/Orchestra/Choir. We didn't have math today but we did have a science experiment with Mentos, Moutain Dew, Diet Coke, and Classic Coke. Diet Coke reacted the most with the Mentos. After we reviewed the findings of our experiment we played outside. -Ysabela G.
